Lower Site Plans - Reception, Pools and Wellness Spa

Avalon Pools Rendering

The Lower Site of Avalon Springs will house the reception building, the renovated lodge, the pools area and wellness spa.  A natural creek, formed by the spillover of the spring water, will wind throughout the lower site, splashing into small ponds and waterfalls along the way.

Arriving and Parking Offsite

Upon arriving, guests will park in short-term spots in front of reception, and then move their cars to the parking lot that will sit about 300 feet from the entry.  There will be no combustion engines onsite at Avalon Springs - only electric carts will move people around the site.

Reception Area

The  reception building will feature a fountain to welcome guests and visitors to Avalon Springs.  From the reception center, a covered patio will overlook the lodge with dining area, the pools, and the entry to the guestroom areas.  Here, guests may check in to their room, purchase a day pass, or visit the restaurant.

Historic Lodge

The lodge will be renovated to house the dining area, commercial kitchen, a lobby, and a porch with outdoor dining.   The historic dance hall which is adjacent to the dining hall will be brought back to life to host daily activities, classes, and celebrations.  Upstairs, the lodge will house some offices and a library/reading room with verandas looking out over the water gardens.

Art Studio

An existing cabin will be renovated to provide art classes and unstructured art studio space for guests who enjoy creative expression as part of their Avalon experience.

Service Areas

Services such as laundry, housekeeping, security and maintenance will be housed in a row of existing renovated cabin structures located discretely behind landscaping and near the road.

Spa and Wellness Center

A spa reception building will welcome guests into the sanctuary of the pools and wellness spa.  Separate men's and women's changing rooms, showers, and saunas will provide a comfortable place to transition into approaching the healing waters.  Ten existing cabins tucked against a wooded hillside will provide the cozy spaces to enjoy massage and other spa treatments as well as some natural healing modalities.

Pools Area

Nineteen baths and pools will include a large swimming pool, a large warm pool, a large hot pool, a cold plunge, and fifteen more smaller private pools of various sizes and temperatures.  These smaller pools will be drained and filled between bathers so that every guest will get a fresh bath of pure untreated warm mineral water.  All pools will be organically shaped, and landscaped for a serene natural experience, many with shade by trees or graceful structures.  Some bathing areas will be available for private rental as well.
